Abstract

Heterometallic sulfido clusters (η5-C5H4CH3)MoFeCo(CO)8(μ3-S) and (η5-C5H4CH3)2Mo2Fe(CO)7(μ3-S) were obtained through metal exchange with electrophilic addition-elimination via substitution from the reaction of HFe2Co(CO)9(μ3-S) with (η5-C5H4CH3)Mo(CO)3Cl in THF. The title clusters were characterized by elemental analyses, and IR and NMR spectroscopies. The X-ray crystal structures of the title clusters are reported here as well.
