Abstract

The importance of the medial patellofemoral ligament for patellar stability can be recognized by the number of publications of different reconstruction techniques in the literature. We present a surgical alternative for skeletally immature patients, which can be used in adults also, with recurrent dislocation of the patella, consisting of reconstruction of the medial patellofemoral ligament with autogenous quadriceps tendon graft and advancement of the vastus medialis obliquus muscle.
