Abstract
Sr4OI6 was prepd. by a solid-state reaction. The compd. is hexagonal, space group P63mc, with a 10.747(1), c 7.8678(9) Å, dc = 4.760, Z = 2, R = 0.030, Rw(F2) = 0.055 for 721 reflections and is isostructural with both A4OCl6, where A is Ba or Sr, and Ba4OI6. [on SciFinder(R)]
