Abstract

A case is presented of a 13-year-old boy with gender identity disorder. Family history revealed that two of his maternal uncles suffer from fetishistic transvestism. The authors speculate about a possible association between those two psychiatric diagnoses and suggest the need for systematic studies to be carried out in this area.
