Abstract

Two patients (one woman 35 years age and a man of 45 years age) were diagnosed with periapicale granulomas at the level of maxillary teeth, for which treatment, apical resection was decided. After resections, to reduce postoperative pain and edema, but also to accelerate bone healing in the bone defects PRGF (plasma rich in growth factors) was applied in both patients. Postoperative local reaction was discrete and processes of healing devolved in good conditions. Retroalveolar dental radiography performed at 16 weeks after surgery shows that bone recovery is very good for small defects and good for the medium defects. We believe that these aspects have been significantly influenced by the PRGF which, being an autologous product, is very well tolerated by the body and due to the growth factors which it contains stimulates reparative processes, with shortening time for bone healing. .
