Abstract

A cystic lesion in the anterior upper part of the abdomen was detected in utero by ultrasonography. Color and pulsed Doppler studies performed over the mass revealed a marked turbulent flow through the cystic lesion in connection with the umbilical vein, suggesting the existence of an intra-abdominal ectasia of the umbilical vein.
