A three-dimensional (3D) Cu(II)-containing Prussian Blue analogue with two types of [Cr(CN)6]3- units, [Cu(2,2‘-dpa)]3[Cr(CN)6]2·3H2O (2,2‘-dpa = 2,2‘-dipicolylamine), was synthesized and characterized. One type of [Cr(CN)6]3- unit in this complex coordinates to six copper(II) atoms to form the heptanuclear [CrCu6] unit, which connects with other [CrCu6] units through the other type of [Cr(CN)6]3- unit acting as bidentate spacer link only. Magnetic investigations of this complex revealed that long-range ferromagnetic ordering occurs below the Curie temperature of 3 K. It is the first example of 3D complex-based Prussian Blue analogues containing aromatic amine capping ligands.
