Abstract

The solid-like Lennard–Jones (LJ) 19-atom cluster is studied by using the molecular dynamics simulation. The relations between the atomic equivalence indexes and the behaviors of the atoms in the cluster are discussed. It is found that the behaviors of the atoms in the cluster are closely related with the atomic equivalence indexes. Some ambiguous notions are made clear.
