Abstract

This study was conducted through Two-Kidney-One–Clip (2K1C) induced renovascular hypertensive rat model to evaluate the possible cardiovascular and hepatic dysfunctions on a chronic study. We investigated the pathological implications of several vascular organs and liver due to 2K1C chronic exposure. Male wister rats were divided into two groups: SHAM and 2K1C, of which the latter underwent Goldblatt 2K1Csurgery and were kept under observation for a longer period of time. After ten weeks of surgery they were weighed, sacrificed and their organs as well as plasma were collected & stained using various methods to observe the possible oxidative stress mediated organ dysfunctions. However, plasma AST, ALT, ALP concentrations and oxidative stress markers like APOP, NO, MDA found to be increased, on the other hand natural anti-oxidants like SOD, GSH, and catalase found decreased when 2K1C group compared to SHAH. Moreover, we found inflammatory cell infiltration around heart, kidney and hepatic portal vein, we also investigated that chronic exposed 2K1C heart and liver may suffer from fibrosis. Finally, we focused on iron overload on chronic hypertension exposed heart and liver. These new findings indicate that chronic renovascular hypertension might have a possible pathogenic role on liver dysfunction through oxidative mediated stress.
