Abstract

The evolution of microstructure and flow stress in AIMg5Mn (AA5182) alloy during high temperature deformation was analysed experimentally in hot rolling and compression tests and quantitatively described. These data were used in a hot rolling simulation model based on the elementary theory of plasticity and FEM methods for the analysis and prediction of metallurgical effects on mechanical data of the rolling process (rolling force) and on the microstructure evolution of the material (amount of recrystallization, grain size and texture) during multi-stand hot rolling.
