Abstract

A novel approach to the asymmetric reduction of dihydro-b-carboline derivatives to the corresponding tetrahydro-b-carboline is described based on the supramolecular complex formed from calix[6]arene/chiral amine as an enzyme mimetic and NaBH 4 as the reducing agent.
