Abstract

Nowadays, drug-herb interactions are considered as a potential factor affecting pharmacotherapy outcomes. In this work we evaluated the modulation of P-glycoprotein function by Aloe vera juice in Caco-2 cells. The data obtained thus far indicated that Aloe vera exhibited the capability to inhibit P-gp thus raising the possibility of the emergence of adverse drug reactions (ADRs).
