Abstract

A compact differential band-notched dipole antenna is proposed. By inserting a λ g /4 short-circuited coplanar stripline (CPS) resonator between the radiator of the wideband dipole antenna and the ground, the antenna achieves frequency band-notched characteristic without increasing the size of the original antenna. With the λ g /4 short-circuited CPS resonator, the proposed differential band-notched dipole antenna shows higher suppression at the notch frequency compared with reported band-notched antennas. Measured results show that the gain of the proposed band-notched antenna is suppressed about 19 dB at 3.49 GHz.
