Abstract

On September 2005 a bloom of Chattonella subsalsa was observed in Laguna Navachiste, Sinaloa on the eastern coast of the Gulf of California. Laguna Navachiste is a shallow, semi-enclosed coastal lagoon characterized by harsh environmental conditions and severe anthropogenic stress. This is the first record of this species on Mexican waters
