Abstract

We identified 238 phosphorylation sites on 116 proteins from human colon adenocarcinoma cells by immobilized metal affinity chromatography combined with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry analysis. Phosphorylation sites identified in this work were compared to known kinase motifs using bioinformatics tools to estimate kinase activity and functionality. Phosphorylation sites identified in this work may be utilized to assess the activity of selected kinases from different cell states and exogenous stimuli.
