Abstract

This special issue renders ten original technical contributions which represent the latest trends in the emerging inter-disciplinary area of data-intensive modelling and simulation. Ranging from performance-oriented and energy-aware infrastructure support through parallel programming frameworks and scheduling heuristics to high-end applicative environments, these papers have been especially compiled into this single compendium to reflect the broad state of the art.
