Abstract

The ion transfer reaction across liquid vertical bar liquid interface present at carbon paste electrode prepared with hydrophobic room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL)-1-decyl-3-methylimidazolum bis(trifluoromethylsulfonylimide) as a binder is reported. Ion transfer was forced by generation of tert-butylferrocenium cation from neutral substrate present in RTIL phase. This process exhibits selectivity towards hydrophobic anions like ClO4- or PF6- and it is more efficient than in the case of carbon paste electrode based on polar solvent.
