Abstract

ABSTRACT We amplified and sequenced the genome of a polyomavirus infecting a central chimpanzee ( Pan troglodytes troglodytes ). This virus, which is closely related to BK and JC polyomaviruses, may help shed a new light on these human pathogens’ evolutionary history.
