Abstract

Sleep problems are highly prevalent and persistent among children with developmental disabilities. Results of the present study demonstrate the effectiveness of the process of functional assessment and behavioural treatment of severe sleep problems in three children all of whom had developmental disability. In each case, treatment was effective in reducing disruptive night-time behaviours and effects were maintained during follow-up.
