Abstract

The braconid wasp genus Yelicones Cameron from the Australasian region is revised. Fourteen species are recognised: Y. paradoxus (Fischer) and Y. buloloensis, sp. nov. from Papua New Guinea, Y. fijiensis, sp. nov. from Fiji, and Y. affinis, sp. nov., Y. cardaleae, sp. nov., Y. desertus, sp. nov., Y. doyeni, sp. nov., Y. fittoni, sp. nov., Y. luridus Papp , Y. naumanni, sp. nov., Y. nigridorsum, sp. nov., Y. shawi, sp. nov., Y. scutellaris, sp. nov., and Y. vulgaris, sp. nov. from the Australian mainland. Y. tenuis Papp from Australia is transferred from Yelicones to Mesocentrus Szepligéti (comb. nov.). A key to species is presented, and the relationships of Yelicones within the Rogadinae s.l., its biology and distribution are discussed.
