Abstract

Abstract Five institutional leaders of interprofessional education describe two challenges to implementing large programs in interprofessional education and three approaches for overcoming these challenges. Specifically, as challenges, they cite an evolving healthcare delivery system and outline the heterogeneous nature of professional practice. They note the current limitations of interprofessional education to respond to these needs in practice and suggest curricular innovations and partnerships with healthcare delivery organizations as possible directions for better preparing health professions students to deliver care.
