Abstract

A group of 25 female participants participated in the study. Participants were free of injury, illness and disease as determined by a team physician prior to study participation. The aim of this research is to determine the effects of group fitness programs on the morphological characteristics and motor abilities of women. Variables were used to assess motor skills: push-ups; squats; lifting the torso; standing long jump; deep bench press. Variables were used to assess morphological characteristics: body weight; chest circumference; waist circumference; thigh circumference; upper arm circumference. The t-test was used to compare the initial and final measurements of the participant, the magnitude of the difference between the initial and final measurements of the participants was calculated using the magnitude of the Cohen's d effect. Based on the results, we can conclude that group fitness programs have significant effects on the morphological characteristics and motor abilities of women. The experimental program had positive effects.
