Abstract

Methodological Analysis and ReporTing Evaluation of both Resistance Training Trials and Resistance Training-Based Systematic Reviews (MARTE) is a project with four systematic reviews (SRs), two of which examine the completeness of reporting of traditional resistance training (RT) and velocity-based resistance training (VB-RT) interventions in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that investigated the effects of RT on muscular hypertrophy and health or athletic performance outcomes in adults and older adults, using items from the Consensus on Exercise Reporting Template (CERT) checklist. The remaining two SRs will critically appraise the evidence from systematic reviews that assessed the effects of traditional RT and VB-RT on muscular hypertrophy and health or athletic performance outcomes in adults and older adults.
