Abstract

The role of tobacco smoking as a cause of many diseases is now well established from the scientific point of view. It is recognized that tobacco consumption is the leading cause of preventable deaths in the majority of high-income nations and increasingly in low- and middle-income nations. This special issue presents the latest evidence in the fields of both smoking prevention and cessation.
