The aim of this research is to analyse the technical and formal characteristics of the images that appear in textbooks of Physical Education of the third cycle of Primary Education published since 2007. The sample consists of 1.455 images belonging to five Spanish publishers. The study is descriptive and empirical, using content analysis as core technique of this research that is based on ad hoc system. The results show a predominance of the images with entire plane, mid-focus stand out, without contour, with a small size, located at the bottom right of the page, correlate with the text and colour.
