Abstract

The genesis of Total Quality Management (TQM) lies in the industry, especially in manufacturing concerns. However, about two decades ago, it pervaded the service sector, including the educational institutions. The TQM philosophy helps an organisation to achieve its objectives effectively. This paper aims at showing how Higher Education can gain advantage from the philosophy and how TQM can deal with the issues that may crop up while implementing it in Higher Education. This paper suggests a framework for the implementation of TQM to Higher Education.
