Abstract

; The proposed work here consist in Masters Degree in Political Sciences and International Relations, from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Its goal is to analyse the way PAIGC managed the bipolar scenario of the Cold War to establish their path to Independence. Therefore we analyze the history of Cold War, following the decolonization that started in the end of the Second World War so that later we could focus on the specific case of PAIGC since its formation in 1956 until the beginning of the armed confrontation with the portuguese government. Afterwords we follow an analysis of the way PAIGC managed the foreign aid provided by the comunist party and by what means this help was established. The bottom line was to demonstrate the way that the bipolar scenario facilitated PAIGC in the conquering of the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde. The concern was to achieve the previously settled goals by showing the great moments and discussions that characterized this period.
