Abstract

This study reports the synthesis of Schiff’s base functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (SBMNPs). Co-precipitation was used for the synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4) from aqueous Fe2+/ Fe3+ salt under basic environment. Initially MNPs were modified with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (3-APTES) followed by treating with salicylaldehyde to get SBMNPs. The SBMNPs were characterized by UV, demonstrating their distinct core–shell structures. The Electrochemical properties of nanoparticles have been explored, in this context Pt electrode was modified through synthesized magnetic nanoparticles. It was observed that the modified electrode provides better CV towards reversibility. By using nanoparticles modified electrodes backward to forward peak current ratio of Iodine free radical was observed from 0.821 to unity.
