The ternary phase UCu5.5Ga0.5 was studied by magnetization, electrical resistivity and specific heat measurements. It exhibits a modified Curie-Weiss behaviour with reduced effective magnetic moment with no hint at any magnetic transition down to 1.7 K. The low-temperature electronic specific heat is moderately enhanced being 185 mJ/(mol K2). The electrical resistivity behaves in a manner characteristic of systems with strong electronic correlations.
