Abstract

In this paper we propose a MAC layer multicast protocol for 802.11n WLAN. In IEEE 802.11n, new features at MAC layer, such as frame aggregation and more flexible link adaptation are defined to increase the effective throughput. Recently, several multicast protocols at MAC layer have been proposed for WLAN. Among these protocols DPMM is one such protocol for multicasting which has taken care of single sender multiple receiver concept. In this proposed multicast protocol, we introduce a new architecture for 802.11n over DPMM which will take care of multiple sender multiple receiver concept.
