Abstract

ABSTRACT The occurrence and distribution of species of the genus Oxythyrea Mulsant in Israel are revised based on specimens in the National Collection of Insects, De-partment of Zoology, Tel Aviv University, and from the private collection of Oz Rittner. Three species occur in Israel: O. noemi Reiche and Saulcy, O. cinctella (Schaum), and O. abigail Reiche and Saulcy. A key for the identification, dis-tribution maps, and notes on the biology of each species are provided.
