Abstract

Rolling their own: Naturally rolled-up C/Si/C trilayer nanomembranes exhibit a high reversible capacity of about 2000 mAh g(-1) at 50 mA g(-1) , and 100 % capacity retention at 500 mA g(-1) after 300 cycles. This fabrication technique is general and could be applied to the fabrication of other battery materials that undergo large volume changes.
