Abstract

Recent studies uncovered new intriguing roles of the Bone morphogenetic proteins in various processes during development of the cloaca, urethra and branching morphogenesis of different glands. Here we describe recent studies of Bone morphogenetic protein function during cloacal formation and partitioning, the early and late morphogenesis of the genital urethra, and branching morphogenesis of the urogenital and ocular glands.
