Abstract

An updated result of European Randomized Screening Trial for Prostate Cancer encourages Asian countries to proceed prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening for early detection. On the other hand, the issue of overtreatment is emerging as a serious problem. Active surveillance (AS) should be more prevalent than now to avoid overtreatment for patients with favourablerisk prostate cancer (PCa) detected by PSA test.
