Abstract

In the title compound, C(19)H(34)N(+)center dot Br(-)center dot H(2)O,the dihedral angle between the trans-planar alkyl side chain and the pyridinium ring is 52.73(7)degrees In the crystal structure, O-H center dot center dot center dot Br, CH center dot center dot center dot Br and C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds form a network, while the hydrophobic alkyl chains interdigitate, forming bilayers.
