Abstract

Abstract This project contains a scientific study of the growing national tendencies in Europa, where the reasons behind this growth of nationalism will be examined. The project focuses on four chosen political parties in Europe, as parts of their political principle programs will be examined with the use of sociological and political theories. The main focuses are based on the subjects of immigration, EU, and welfare. The project takes use of a comparative document analysis methodology to obtain a satisfying conclusion on the subject. By the use of theories from sociology and political science, it is examined in what extend the growth of globalization can affect the individual’s view on the on the national community. Therefore, it we will use theories concerning one’s feeling of national identity, and how people react on the growth of globalization, supranationalism etc. In this way, it will become more obvious why the nationalistic parties seem to be growing in these years.
