Abstract

Simultaneous wavelength conversion of multiple spectrum-sliced amplified spontaneous emission channels is achieved experimentally via four-wave mixing (FWM) in highly-nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber. A theoretical model for FWM between coherent pump and incoherent signals is built based on FWM theory of coherent light. The theoretical result agrees well with the experimental result.
