Abstract

Stilbenes constitute a large class of phenolic compounds, including monomers (such as reveratrol) and oligomers (dimers, trimers, etc.). The most studied stilbene, resveratrol, exhibits multiple biological activities across multiple diseases including neurodegenerative diseases. Interestingly, other stilbene also have beneficial activities. This review summarize the chemistry and the neuroprotective effects of stilbenes.
