; The year 2009 marked the Fourth Centenary of the Decree of the Expulsion of the Moors from Spain in 1609. The date is useful to make a historiographic review of the progress in Moorish studies, but it also provides the opportunity to bring to light the issue of the reconciliation with their heirs, living for centuries in the Maghreb. This article shows the meaning of the historiographic contributions of recent years, from an anthropological perspective and it also presents the current need for reconciliation and historical justice
